About Us
About Us
Aku Bisa was started in January 2022 by two Indonesian high schoolers in Singapore. Since then, we have gained 32 new members from all over Asia and have started working together with organizations in Indonesia and other parts of Asia. We not only directly provide our partners with direct teaching and mentoring, but also empower others to achieve our common vision of quality education.
Our Sustainable Development goals
Quality education, decent work and economic growth and reduced inequalities.
We think that children who live in secluded areas have far less opportunities than students like us, thus not being able to grow into workers with high skillsets who can make a living of their own. We aim to be able to give them the opportunity to not only have standard education, but education about life skills and how to make opportunities for themselves and evolve the community around them as well, stopping the vicious cycle of poverty in eastern Indonesia.
Currently, in many developing countries, there has been a surge of small and medium enterprises and the rise of the digital economy. However, the population of people in remote areas like Kapan Village isn’t able to take advantage of this due to the lack of access to modernized education and technology, trapping them in a vicious cycle of poverty. By introducing a business and technology curriculum, they will be able to have the skill to start their own enterprises and be a part of the digital economy, growing not only their own livelihoods but also the economy of their community
Each year there are hundreds of foundations donating to underprivileged countries with various kinds of products including food, clothing, medical equipment, etc. However, these items have a considerably short lifecycle and impact on young lives. We as a team want to provide something more solid that can actually have a significant and long-lasting impact on their futures.
